Sikuai Island in West Sumatera

June 16 2011 was the  first day of our visit to West Sumatera was to Sikuai Island. We landed to Minangkabau International Airport at Padang on 8.30 AM in the morning. We were pick up by our agent in Padang Mr. Rusdi. A seven seater Kijang Innova was available to transport five people of us  for our West Sumatera trip. From the airport we were taken to a Soto Padang Garuda for breakfast. Then we went to the Wisata Bahari pier for sea transfer to Sikuai Island.

The scenery of Sikuai  island  was  beautiful. The ambient was very quiet. I like its  quietness very much.

The sand was white. The water was clear. In the evening we enjoyed the beach by laying and swinging in the hammock and starring to the sky. We were waiting and noticing  the moon to arise from the back of the hill.

Some people may be disappointed  with Sikuai Island when they expected to experience many kind of game since no real game provided in here. But the quietness of the island was enjoyable to me. The other disappointing one  was that the provided meal was not good and fresh.

It would be nice they provide a good bicycle for the guest since it appeared to interesting biking around the island. I did go around the island a long the path by motor bike. It was nice as well.

The water was clear. It made snorkeling to be  a nice experience there. We did snorkeling in the morning.
