Exploring the Karang Taraje December 2015

Mid year of 2015, the oil price was getting lower and lower. The oil industry activities  also was  reduced a lot. I then had enough leisure time in December 2015. I thought this was a right time to go out for photo hunting in Sawarna beach. Then I took vacation in the mid December 2015, and went to Sawarn beach with my familiy. The time  might be not right, since the first day we were there was rainy and cloudy.

On the second day the weather was bit better, eventhough the cloud still ther in the morning. I woke up in the morning and get an ojek to take me from Sawarna to Karang Taraje. I found some good spot to shoot some seascape in that morning. I used my Sony Alpha 6000 and used my manual focus lens of Tamron 17-55 mm for Canon. Of course I was using lens adapter.

During taking photo shots I was assited by the ojek driver. This ojek driver apparently waw conveesant enough using a camera. I gave him my Samsung EK-GC100 and he shot me during I seascaping and landscaping.

Sawarna beach is a welknown spot for landscaping photographer. But this place also an interersting spot as it is also a geological outcrop.

Sharing Biogenic Gas Play to Komite Eksplorasi Nasional

On last Friday, it was  20 Novenber 2015,   13.30 - 15.00 hours,  I brought two geoscience team presenting about biogenic hydrocarbon play to National Exploration  Committee ( KEN )

The first presentation was our experience with biogenic gas play in Bentu-Korinci block in Central Sumatera Basin. The title was very interesting : Turns Hazards into Gold. In the past the shallow gas in Bibio formation was always avoided by previous operatir drilling as it was considered as drilling hazards. Previous operator  experience blowout several time but during our operation we could manage drilling operation well. So we successfully drilling several well and now we produce 54 mmscfd of biogenic gas. The reservoir producing capacity is even higher as it will increase to 100 mmscfd in 2017.

The second presentation was from our other subsidiary Kangean Energy Indonesia in East Java. This operator produced biogenic gas from Paciran sandstone around 250 mmscfd from Terang Field. It will go to next phase to produce from Sirasun and Batur field next year.

Another field in Kangean Block to produce biogenic gas is from Lower Rancak member in Pagerungan field.

The meeting was attended by team of Lemigas groscientist who will be assigned by KEN to conduct biogenic play research.

IDX-listed upstream oil and gas company PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (EMP) is in the process of farming out up to 50 percent of its interest in Buzi block in Mozambique, Africa, according to a top official of the firm.
“We have opened the data room of the block since two weeks ago in London,” EMP’s President Director Imam Agustino said.
Many companies are interested in the block, and now there are four oil and gas companies from Africa and Europe that have been shorlisted, according to Imam. "The agreement with the partner is expected to be completed by the end of this year,” he said.
EMP owns 75 percent participating interest in the block in a partnership with the Mozambique government who owns another 25 percent through Empressa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH).

Candi Gedong Songo, Bandungan Kabupaten Semarang
